1. How many notes should I choose for my first handpan?
Fewer notes means a "simpler" handpan. A model with 6 to 9 notes is ideal for beginners. All the tones match, allowing you to easily improvise without making mistakes.
2. What is the difference between 440 Hz and 432 Hz?
These are two tuning frequencies.
- 440 Hz is the modern standard, perfect if you want to play with other instruments.
- 432 Hz is slightly lower; some find the sound softer and more soothing. It is a matter of personal preference.
3. Is the handpan difficult to learn?
No. Even without prior musical knowledge, you can play within the first few minutes. The notes are tuned so that the instrument is extremely intuitive.
4. What is the difference between D minor, G minor, and C major?
The difference lies in the emotion and the pitch.
- D Minor: The Meditation Sound. It is deep, earthy, and universal. It is the best-selling and easiest scale to improvise with to find peace.
- G Minor: The Lyrical Sound. It is also melancholic, but higher and more ethereal than D Minor. Ideal if you like melodies that "sing" with more clarity.
- C Major: The Joyful Sound. It is clear, bright, and optimistic. It is the only choice for positive moods and to easily play with other musicians.

6. How do I care for my handpan?
Always store your instrument in the bag to prevent bumps and scratches, and clean it regularly with a soft cloth, potentially with a little soapy water.
Avoid humidity and dry it immediately if it gets wet. Do not play too forcefully to maintain the tuning, and in the event of an off-note, entrust it to a professional.
7. Can I return my order?
